back to who I was meant to be

Through all this I have experienced different professions. I graduated as a graphic designer in a country in which it’s not quite appreciated. Then I became a jewelry designer in a country in which everything is better depending on the brand you wear. Then I finally became an English teacher in a country where Spanish is spoken but English is needed, but not everybody here speaks English. I have used my creativity to work in everything I’ve done. I wanted to be a writer and a film maker, in a country in which you need to be very wealthy to do this just because you are somebody’s son or daughter.

Now I know that you have to be, whoever you want to be, even if on the way you have to start leaving somethings behind. Even if it takes you nights of nonstop cry, even when the most you can afford is a small pack of chewing gum because coffee is too expensive now.

As a teacher I learned to dream again, I’ve seen my students laughing everyday, jumping, running, their only problem is what to wear, to pass the next semester… or which movie to choose at the cinema. When you use to create a world of your own in which everything is possible. Nobody judges you ‘cause you’re too young.

The problem with people now, is that we often forget how good it feels to scape to that world inside our heads. The problem is that we don’t allow ourselves to dream, we don’t dare to.

Today I’ve decided I don’t care what others may say or think. I’m trying to build a world of my own in which everything is possible, creativity won’t sleep. I won’t stop just because I live in a country in which everybody believes you have to be wealthy to be mad or talented. I’ve decided to live forever through my creations.

So today I go back to be who I was meant to be…
